Pressing the cancel button has no effect, no message, nothing,

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Whirring when accelerating, CVT
« Last post by Gianluca on November 06, 2025, 12:13:03 PM »Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right section for my question. I'm writing from Italy and I'm disabled.
I own a Honda Jazz 1.4 GG (new) from December 2011, with a CVT transmission. Current mileage: 152,700 km.
For a week now, I've been hearing a whirring, whirring, or propeller-like noise when accelerating (from 25 km/h onwards). No noise when reversing, however. No bouncing. If I shift into N while driving, the noise disappears. The noise also disappears when I release the accelerator.
Over the years, I've had the CVT oil changed five times, the last one in November 2024 (at a Honda dealership, like all maintenance services).
What do you think it could be? I'm afraid it's the CVT.
Thank you all, and sorry for my English (I use Google Translate).
Does anyone have any opinions and/or advice?

« Last post by Sean Regan on November 05, 2025, 10:58:35 PM »Don't forget to regularly calibrate your torque driver, a shop bought torque driver has a tolerance of +-4% so that you will torqueing the Jazz wheel nuts anywhere between 104 to 112Nm.
Personally I let the garage fit my wheels then you will have no problem with insurance if something goes wrong.
Good advice.
Only use the manufacturer's supplied wheel brace to tighten the wheel nuts, but keep something stronger in the car, in case you're miles from anywhere, have a puncture, the rescue services are going to be hours, you want to change a wheel yourself and someone at the garage has over-tightened the nuts!
I've a socket, a tommy bar and a bit of steel tube by which I can extend it, if I ever have that problem.

« Last post by R2D3 on November 05, 2025, 10:34:20 PM »All cars have now got to have the speed warning. It cannot turned off and it will soon be part of the mot.I have been in constant conversations with Honda regarding the app. No joy whatsoever. I've come to the conclusion that it's to do with the eSIM card only being 3G. Crazy!
I have had no issues with the app with the Jazz. If you are still having problems,Try uninstalling the app and registering again. If that doesn't work,Contact Honda UK and they can reset it for you. I had the same problem with my eNY1.
Regarding the speed warning, what is most annoying is that it so often gets it wrong. It fails to recognise the signs on motorway overhead gantries, often picks up the speed limit signs on the backs of foreign lorries, picks up spurious speed limit signs on side streets and fails to pick up 'end of speed limit/national speed limit signs, with the result of a constant bombardment of chimes... all wrong! Also, given that speedometers read 2 mph too high it berates me for travelling at an indicated 32mph when I'm actually travelling at 30 mph!
