I've been that father! My two decided they were going to decorate the bonnet of the Galaxy by drawing shapes on it with a stone, right through to the primer.

I was less than delighted with their artwork, and they got a severe telling off, but that was it. I think there was a degree of coercion going on, and that the youngest did most of the damage - but I never found out who actually did the deed.
