Morrisons' driver runs a Red.
« on: February 13, 2021, 04:22:33 PM »
Today, at the Sheriffhall roundabout, I witnessed this piece of dangerous driving. Despite good visibility and dry roads this Morrisons' delivery driver blatantly continues through on the red. The car ahead of him crosses as the lights turn amber and the red light is timed exactly as we get the red and amber (you can see the lights he sees in the original video but difficult to see on the YouTube copy).
I saw him coming and knew he had no intention of stopping, but the poor guy on my left was blindsided and quicker off the mark. Think he got a bit of a shock.

Video deleted from YouTube as Police Scotland wanted details of the incident.

It's a good reminder, that green doesn't mean it's safe to go! Naughty Mr Morrisons, that is well out of order.  :( Even if you don't report him to the authorities, a call to company would be in order IMHO.

I note you actualy stopped at the red light Jocko! Full marks, the modern method seems to be stop just after the white line and then creep forward on the biting point.

Video deleted from YouTube as Police Scotland wanted details of the incident.

Also sent a copy to Morrisons' transport manager.

I was able to see the registration number from the video, clearly.
