Not a review of the 22 Jazz
« on: January 01, 2022, 11:41:51 AM »
New review just out - says it's the 22 Jazz, but the car they review is actually a 21 plate!

Says they like it, comments on the price but fails to compare cars with a similar equipment level as when I looked Polo was more than Jazz with the same options.

That’s early - I could understand maybe a 71 plate being the 2022 model, but they must have brought some over early.

I think there was just the earth dreams sticker they removed from under the bonnet on the 22? There doesn’t seem to have been many changes - the one in the review looks to be a 21.

I was offered a MY22 in late July but held off to get a Sep 71 plate. I could have had a black MY22 in late June.

The MK4 Jazz started out as MY21, even for those who bought in 2020.

A MY20 is the MK3 Jazz.

Confused ? You should be :)

I think in some countries car values can be influenced more by model year than actual date of first  registration .

And is the uk unique in values being affected by whether the car is registered in 2021 on a 70 plate, 21 plate, or 71 plate, or in 2022 on a 71 plate,22 plate or 72 plate?

A friend in Bulgaria  was buying a used car advertised as 2011. He discovered at the last moment it was registered  in December 2010.  The Bulgarian dealer saw nothing wrong with this as it was a 2011 model.   Actually the price was about right for a 2010 car, and a bit too good to be true for  2011. So with some more negotiation the sale went ahead.

I remember reading about someone who traded in a car after 2/3 years - and discovered that the build date of their 'new' car was earlier than the one they had traded in!

Selling a 22 car before the middle of 21 is unusual - you could either have a 20 car (21MY), an actual 21 car (21MY) or a 22 MY car!!

We had a hard job on the Civic forum recently that nearly ended in a ban.

One poster wanted to know why his 2009 Civic had no USB and AUX sockets in the centre armrest when they were clearly advertised. We told him his 2009 Civic was obviously a MY08 pre-facelift model sold in 2009.

He was having none of it and was becoming abusive telling us we didn't know what we were talking about.

Having owned a pre and post facelift 8G Civic I had to correct him.

Let's be careful out there !
