Hi guys
I've just picked.up a sat nav unit 2019 to replace my non sat nav unit 2018 I've fitted it
I've tried to get a code via ebay but been told they can't do it. my question is if I phoned.
Honda do I need my vin number or the number of the car it was taken off
I have both

I think you’ve got a bit of a problem there. The whole point of the radio code thing is to make theft less attractive to the oiks who do that sort of thing. On the Mk.3, the code isn’t accessible to the user, it’s stored in the ECU so that the unit can only be used in the original car (if you reset the unit it picks up the code automatically, you don’t have to - or can’t - enter it yourself). With a replacement unit I guess you’d have to either reprogram the ECU or change the code in the new unit to match the one in your car. I know that’s possible because my car’s head unit was replaced under warranty early on, but in your case you’d have to convince Honda that the new unit wasn’t stolen.

The unit was from a scrap car I have the details from it Vin number and stuff
Will give honda online a try first see how.i go

OK guys just a little update had no luck online or ebay I went to my local honda.
They were very helpful i told them the old unit had stopped working and had bought one from a scrap yard they said as I was a connect unit they would have to go directly through honda they charged £25
It is working like a dream 🙏
