Title: 2021 HR-V Insurance Group
Post by: Expatman on October 30, 2021, 02:16:30 PM
The insurance group of the new HR-V is quoted at 30/31. Just run a quote through LV website (my current insurer) and comprehensive quote for me and my wife, 10,000 PA came out at £216 which is slightly cheaper than my Skoda YETi. which is reputedly in insurance group 9. Confusing or what?

My broker friend reckons published insurance groups are worthless these days.

It's all worked out by data now.

Hi.
Sounds like a pretty competitive quotation you've had from LV.
Regards,
Dan.

I agree, though we are both retired (so no commuting) and live in rural North Yorkshire which generally has a low rating for insurance and the lowest crime rate in the country!

I have copied & posted this from the HR-V forum.
I should add that I complained to the CEO of Aviva (as a shareholder) and received an obfuscated, 'smoke and mirrors' reply. which basically said that  Aviva have their way of working out premiums as do LV and they a not necessarily the same and they could/would not alter their premium. Guess who I shall be going with for my HR-V e:HEV!
Interestingly the quotes from bot for my Karoq were pennies apart.
So obviously Aviva don't like green vehicles and I accused them of such!

If you want a laugh, try to insure your shiny new HR-V HEV with Aviva.
75 y.o. Full, clean, no accidents, full licence, 7k miles a year, 15+years NCB, fully comp, Insured with Aviva for many years, multiple discounts.......wait for it!......
£497 p.a!!!!
LV.......Same as above £249!!
P.S. I have Just been on line as a new customer £362. I telephoned Aviva and was told that both have shareholder discount applied which is the same as dual policy discount. The latter used to be 10% and the former20% so they are ripping off left right and centre. I have lodged an official complaint.
I thought insurance customers had been instructed not to rip off existing customers!!

LV do seem to be cornering the car insurance market with very competitive quotes.

They almost halved what DL wanted from me. Similar to above, totally clean record, been with them over 20 years, but they just added about 30% for no apparent reason.

Then when I phoned to cancel they had the cheek to say I should have phoned to negotiate. I'd been doing that for many years and got bored with it.

I've done that with Aviva in the past and I too, am bored with doing so.
All I get is the fact that they have applied all the discounts to which I am entitled, they can do no more and if I don't like it I can go elsewhere. Which, as mentioned, I most certainly will be doing!
