Brake assist
« on: July 15, 2017, 10:38:20 PM »
Hi guys. Getting a Jazz SE Plus CVT next week. Had a test drive today, it was great. My only concern was that I thought a CVT would not roll back when starting on an incline. I think this is called Brake assist ( it may be 'Hill start assist' ).
I can live without it if I have to, but I'm sure it should have this feature. Any ideas ?

Coco.

2013 models do have this feature; if you press the brake pedal quite firmly before you release it, the hill start assist will engage.  This is only supposed to be used for a few seconds, not a full traffic light cycle.

My 2006 has a device that does something similar. It is controlled by a lever between the seats.  :D

Looking at the spec, it seems it was fitted to all after 2010. That's if the info is correct.
My I shift has it but I do not rely on it as it seems a bit hit and miss.
As Jocko says the best one is between the front seats.

Does a 2014 model have this? I've never had the courage to try!

Okay to try it as long as there is nobody behind you.
