Jazz Semi Auto Non Starter - Please help
« on: February 09, 2017, 06:04:29 PM »
Hello guys, I have a 2010 Jazz semi auto that was left in a garage for n/s wing repair. The vehicle is now a non starter after it was left couple of days there.

What I have noticed:
The remote key was not responding anymore - central locking switches on key was inoperative
 - I have checked fuse box and one of the fuses was blown

I have now replaced and remote central locking working but car still not starting.

Had diagnostic machine connected and no faults detected.

I don't know what's next. Please if you guys can update.

Foot on the brake pedal and iShift in neutral?

Or

Car might have arrived with dead fuse, but if it has blown on site then there should be a reason.  ECU is on the n/s along with collision cut-off sensor - hope someone has been careful with the oxy or plasma if used.

Immobiliser is a separate unit to the remote, does immobiliser (key) dash indicator come on for 2 seconds then extinguish when key turned to ON(II).  Does it keep blinking for 10 seconds or not light at all?

Thank you for quick reply.

The vehicle went in garage as running.
After 3 days and halfway along the repair the garage informed me it is not starting.
The car has one key with lock/unlock blade key unit

I noticed with existing key, the remote central locking switches on the key itself was not doing anything to the car. So i looked into fuses under dashboard and found one fuse blown which i replaced. The remote central locking key started to function again.

The vehicle was subject to diagnostic machine and there is no fault being reported by the ECU

The green key light blinks for 2 seconds and goes off

The battery is now flat and we are using a snap on booster to start the car

The damage was to the left near the ECU, you guys are right. Where is the collision cut off switch please.

Thank you for all for kind support.

There are several troubleshooting guides here: http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual3/  although the Mk2 is quite difficult to troubleshoot without Honda diagnostics due to extensive use of multiplex communications systems.

# Engine > Starting system > Starting System Symptom Troubleshooting Index > Engine does not start (does not crank)
# Security/Keyless Entry/Locks > Immobilizer System Symptom Troubleshooting > Engine does not start with the immobilizer key

The crash inertia cut off switch is next to the ECU behind the passenger footwell kick panel, but something seems to be draining the battery and blew that fuse so there could be a short somewhere.
