chassis codes
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:24:22 PM »
Some tyre websites, when I enter my car's details offer a list of chassis codes from which I must chose.  For 1.4, for the same bhp, 2007 onwards, there is more than one chassis code from which to choose. Which one is mine?
(1.4 ES Plus CVT.)

Thanks.

It's not the new Jazz you want, the GK, it may be the GE.
You can check by opening the passenger door and look at the bottom of the central pillar, where it meets the sill.  Your chassis code is there.

Thanks.

The tyre websites give several different GE codes.

I suppose it's because I am a bit of an anorak, that I looked up the Honda codes and against GG6 it merely stated 1.4 Vetec 2008-00000
I notice Stilldrillin has a 2015 ES Plus CVT, mine is a 2010 EX I Shift and that has a GG6 code one surmises it's the letters in front of the GG6 that tell the whole story , mine being SHH.

Still being contentious, Honda have the reliabilty crown VW now have the fiddling crown OOPS. I am sorry never liked VW when working on them and riding in them but boy are they going to suffer now!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope Honda haven't been naughty.

Wouldn't think Honda would need to cheat. But I am wondering if Kia use VW software. When I had a diesel Ceed, I could never get anywhere near manufacturers figures.
When they updated my software at first service, the cruise control no longer worked as apparently software was telling computer that clutch pedal was engaged. but car was auto, so no clutch pedal.
Niether Dealer or Kia uk knew how to repair and car was in garage for over a month. Maybe it wasn't their software?
