Hi,
I'm a long-time lurker and never had much need to post. As a result I don't have the 10 posts necessary to start a new topic in the classifieds subforum, so I hope the mods won't mind me posting this here (and will perhaps move it to the classifieds subforum on my behalf) as it's something I think will be very interesting to some Mk2 owners on here.
There's a seller on eBay (a Honda dealership in Worcester) who currently has for sale two full sets of brand new Mk2 OEM 7-spoke alloys with centre caps for £230. I just bought a set for myself and they are as described. This is significantly cheaper than paying for refurbishment of a full set of existing wheels and almost as cheap as a set of bog standard steelies.

I ordered the last but one set for delivery by the Monday and arrived on the Thursday before Very pleased with them, now just working on best tyres for them. I'm leaning towards Michelin Crossclimate which are not cheap but highly rated. Open to suggestions of alternatives.

Someone's snagged the last set, as you say it's not worth refurbing them at that price. Bargain.
You could then sell the old rims, or even scrap them - 15" alloys are currently scrapping about 8-10 quid each.

I ordered a set of Jinyu Winterpro (to go on the old rims) for £140 at the same time as I ordered the alloys, and planned to swap my current summer tyres on to the new rims. Trouble is they haven't arrived yet. Perils of eBay. One amazing bargain that arrives two days early, and another run of the mill sale you have to wait weeks to get your money back from. ::)
Having read a lot of good things about Nokians recently I think I might lump for a set of those once I get my cash back.
I will certainly be avoiding tyrespecialists on eBay from now on either way! No response to emails at all, not even an acknowledgement.

I have just fitted Cross Climates to our Jazz.. Via Blackcircles and fitted by our local ATS. Very simple transaction with no hassle - all went to plan £303 for 4 x 175/65/R15 tyres (incl £25 discount).
Only two weeks' experience of them.
Grip: fine
Rain grip: excellent (LOTS of rain)
Noise: quieter than Michelin Energy Savers on previously.
Braking: fine.
Comfort: handle speed humps and potholes a bit better.
No opportunity to try in snow (none since fitted) but we may have some this weekend.
So far : pleased.

Having read a lot of good things about Nokians recently I think I might lump for a set of those once I get my cash back.
The Nokian WR-D3 on our Jazz and Civic are awesome, only other vehicles we saw when we were out in snow before Christmas (which was very bad by us in Shropshire hills) were LR Defenders and tractors, some ambitious 4x4 drivers on summer tyres were going nowhere.

+1 for the Nokian tyres so the all weather should be worth a looksee
we have winter tyres on 3 Jazz vehicles great in snow over past 7 years
