Title: New Jazz Si Launched

Honda has released the limited edition Jazz Si with standard bodykit and some minor changes to the  under the skin. Based on the 1.4 i-VTEC ES manual with the usual specification (climate control, USB, etc.) but with the following enhancements:

- Bodykit
- 16" alloy wheels
- Privacy glass
- Front fog lights
- 'Si' branding
- New dampers with larger front anti-roll bar
- Modified electric power steering
- Leather steering wheel
- Black and silver upholstery
- Cruise control

A Si-T varient is available with SD navigation and Bluetooth.

Available colours: Milano Red, Crystal Black, White Orchid and Azure Blue.

Prices: £14,550 (Si-T: £15,545).

This is the first Jazz GE model to offer a bodykit like offered on the later GD Sport models from 2004 until 2008.

Another recent change to the Jazz is the inclusion of start/stop ('Idle Stop') on the 1.2 i-VTEC SE and a CO2 reduction of 3g/km meaning the 1.2 i-VTEC SE now sits in tax band C and costs just £30 per year in road tax. Oddly, the SE with Idle Stop also includes automatic climate control and bodycoloured door mirrors and handles.

Now if this had the 1.5 vtec engine I would buy one tomorrow.

Also yet again the rear spoiler is missing on a sporty UK model Jazz!!

Doesn't Swindon build 1.5 vtec's for South Africa?

Has anyone seen one at a dealership and checked it out inside and out?

Also anyone test driven one? Does the modified suspension make any difference?

Pity it doesn't have a bigger engine.

The Jazz models I have looked at here have a VIN number ending with a "J".  Guy down the road has a 2011 1.5LE.  This is the one with a light on the mirror and reverse parking assist, cruise control, heated seats (very nice touch in winter), etc

Yes - shame they couldn't make a pokier version of the engine- or a larger engine for the Si
version - although not everyone would want this  - there are many who would jump at the
chance to get one with a bit more poke.
I assume there are tune up outlets out there that do 'Breath on' the existing engines...?

I test drove 2 Jazz SI was very good but is to much showing off for my taste i prefer a sleeper, the bodykit  is good but can attract the wrong attention and the lowered suspension are little to much harsh and very unforgiving because of that i chose to buy a 2010 SI without the bodykit which is perfect for where i live........

Seems a weird thing to make it look meaner without the power to support it!

I agree the body kit is all show and no go, I picked up a set of new SI wheels on ebay for a preety sweet price and was intending sticking some winter tyres on them, so ours is going to look like a hybrid 2010/2013 Si :)

Just need to book car in for rear tints to keep the twins cool in summer and give it the EX look

i would rather have a wolf in sheeps clothing than the other way around, and cars with too much body modification and too little power are just disappointing for everyone.

It does look nice, but there ought to be the 1.5 engine fitted, even if it's an option.  The EX model should have a 1.5 engine available too.

Si? There should be a Type R or Type S model!  All other manufacturers in the Jazz segment have either a warm or proper hot hatch as part of their line up.  Honda have definitely missed a trick.  Those types of models broaden the appeal and introduce new people to the marque

I just checked the specs on the US Fit with the 1.5 engine, it does 0-60 in 8.2 seconds, that would do for starters!

A 1.5 (on our UK roads) could be great IMO but, before that, I'd much prefer that the suspension/chassis is improved for uneven and undulating surfaces. Jazz/Fit has a great suspension on smooth and even surfaces (Japan?) but it gets too easily unsettled/untidy/ragged in its handling on less forgiving surfaces.

A 1.5 with no revision to its suspension could be all mouth with no trousers in many typical UK road conditions. If Ford can get it so right with Fiesta... which I think has torsion beam in the rear, too... why not Honda?

As it is, Jazz's ever so sweet manual gearchange and light clutch helps with the lack of power because it's such a pleasure to shift gears. It's a delight to keep it in the powerband. How many cars have such a sweet gearchange? I've never driven one so slick in its action! Mine's a 1.2 ('59 GE model).
