Title: Nice Accord.
Post by: Jocko on October 03, 2018, 10:20:59 AM
Today I was parked beside a Y reg Honda Accord SE Executive 2.0L. It was absolutely immaculate. Just like it came out of the showroom. I have no idea what sort of mileage it had done but it was a credit to its owner and to Honda.

Would that be a circa 2000 or 1983 ? Either way you dont see many arround now. We had an 84 Accord 3 door , at the time much better engineered that most other contemporary vehicles..

My first Honda, bought when we came back from a three year posting in Kuwait, was 1981 Accord 3 door coupe with 1.6 engine and fitted with the Hondamatic auto box.
An excellent car which we kept for four years before changing to our first diesel, a Peugeot 205. We did a lot of miles in those days and diesel was cheap.

Someone on Hondakarma has a restored or preserved Mk1 Accord three door ('77/78-ish).

There is a late 80s Accord Aerodeck around my way, three door shooting break style with pop up headlights.

Those Areodecks were a smart looking car.as was the Integra 5 door hatchback which also had pop up headlights.

I always liked the Aerodecks when they were around in the 80s.

I think a few more of the older Hondas survive in good fettle because they had more careful private owners.
