Noisy Rear Mirror
« on: June 11, 2022, 10:31:00 AM »
You read that right lol.

Sometimes vibrations through the arm of my Jazz's rear view mirror make it sound like I'm chauffeuring a massive cricket around.  Anyone else dealt with this?

On my mk2 the mirror was shaking while driving, I realised it needed sliding back into where the arm connects to the plate attached to the windscreen. It seems to gradually come loose over time, must be all the speed bumps and rubbish road surfaces. Didn’t make a cricket noise though  :D

Mine rattles all the time. Sometimes worse than others. Make sure the foam block is holding it tight away from the windscreen.

Yeah sometimes you'll hit a bump just right and the thing wont shut up again until you get home.  >:(  Maybe my cover was slightly forward.

I had a look, but didn't see a foam block on mine?  I slide plastic cover off and I just see the base of the arm and the 3 screws holding it.  Arm seems tight enough.  Guess I could try shoving some soft stuff inside the head lining around it.

The part I am referring to is Item 8 in the image.

It is called Holder, RR, View mirror.

It clips to the stem and "O" shaped part sits against the windscreen cutting out vibration.

The cricket ate it  ;D
Not as serious as a noisy starter motor drive dog.   That will leave you with no friends.  It will eat all your pals and chums.

The dash cam in Mrs W's Civic liked to rattle where the camera screws into its mounting. I found a small amount of blu tack stopped it. Got to love a cheap fix.  :D
