Crosstar mudguards
« on: October 18, 2021, 08:53:57 AM »
Getting delivery of car tomorrow and asked about having mudguards supplied.

Told by spares dept that the standard hybrid Jazz mudguard set does not fit Crosstar, whether that means front and back or just one.

Due probably due to the arch trims etc but disappointing if not made for Crosstar

I have usually had mud flaps on most of my cars but from from my experience they are not really needed on the Crosstar since the black plastic trim is easily cleaned if needed and doesn't scratch like paintwork may. I am sure you will enjoy your new Crosstar without mudflaps.

Honda have not developed mudflaps for the Crosstar. They reckon the underbody protection as-is is sufficient.

This was the final info that took it off my shortlist. The body may not be affected by 'loose chippings' but I don't want the trail of muck you get without them.
Let's be careful out there !

I tend to agree with the trail of muck view.

I think we can all agree that the Crosstar is not an SUV, but it is tending to the styling of one and has the slight increase in ground clearance. I suggest that putting mudflaps on the Crosstar would negate the ground clearance and look wrong on this style of vehicle.

I've used this image before. It's an extreme example of what mudflaps can help to avoid :

Let's be careful out there !

I've been driving my Crosstar around for a while now and it keeps really clean (maybe due to the increased ride height) so I think this is a non-issue, it would spoil the appearance as well

Mud Guards or Mudflaps I am confused.. :'( I suppose you might need them for all the off road driving you would do with your extra 30mm in height... :)

Ever since I had my Maestro front doors paint seriously scratched by Worcester councils insistence on repairing roads with loose chippings I've had mudflaps fitted.

Even at the signed 20mph I could hear the stones hitting the paint with some force.

Each to their own though.
Let's be careful out there !
