Interior Light
« on: November 28, 2023, 07:34:20 PM »
The interior light on my Jazz does not illuminate when the doors are opened - only when operated manually on the light itself. Is there any way to make it turn on when the driver’s door (or either front door) is opened?

I recently left the interior light on by mistake - bad idea! Flat battery, recharge, reset radio, clock etc!

Also, as part of the same carelessness, I discovered that the car manual does not seem to address how the cancel the alarm that operates when reconnecting the charged battery. Indeed, it does not seem to address the alarm system at all.

Comments appreciated.

Do you mean the map lights near the interior mirror or the light in the centre of the roof lining?

The latter is the only one operated by an open door.

The overhead light, in the centre of the roof, has a 3 position switch:
OFF
ON
DOOR CONTROL
Took me a while to spot that

Regarding the alarm when connecting the battery, when I had to replace the battery I simply had to reset the radio code. Sounds that there is an alarm fault somewhere, maybe a door switch?
