What do these mean, when they disappear
« on: November 03, 2023, 03:59:53 PM »
The red oil and battery light come up on display whenever I turn the key a notch (just turning on the electricity) but they both disappear when I fully turn the ignition and the car starts. Is this normal is my car buggered? Thanks

Quite a lot of cars turn on various dash lights so you know the 'bulb' is OK

Until you start the engine you have no battery charging and no oil pressure so as long as they go out when the engine starts
Let's be careful out there !

As above,  ignition on lets you check all systems are active and/ or lamps are working. Once started it's in functional mode,  then take notice of any lights which come on.

It's just a systems check.

You should only worry if any come on during normal running of the car.
