I don't see any problem with that, most drivers only use a fraction of their cars full power or engine rev range during normal use. Exercising your engine occasionally blows all the crap out of it and the exhaust and the engine usually runs better for it. Often known as an "Italian tune up".

Not really interested, if I wanted a higher performance car I would have bought one. Sorry just don't agree with 'foot down see how quick it will go' on public roads

Perfect track (possibly drag strip), bit of tailwind (who knows) and perfectly inflated tyres will do wonders to a 0-60 times. Hoping you get claimed 0-60 times on public roads in real life is like assuming you will get claimed mpg figures .. .
