As I say, I make no comment as to the quality or otherwise of these. Be your own judge, as they say.

I'm sure a more secure fixing method could be devised. If it covers the business end up and can be made secure, I would think it would do the job.

The screws could be security screws, which cannot be undone. I thought the two large holes were also for mounting using existing bolts under the car, but they may just be clearance holes.
Mind you, if you are trying to steal a cat, the idea of removing all these screws, while there is a risk of being spotted, might just be enough to deter you.

It's all got to help put them off as Jocko says, and that price, why not.  ;) Bargain.

Thieves use reciprocating saws and chain cutters.

I think that picture is CGI, not the actual item. I won't be buying something I can't see a genuine picture of. They should include a picture of it fitted.

I can't see them cutting through an 18 gauge steel plate with a saw without making a hell of a noise.

With you now.

I know some of them will use a reciprocating saw, but they make a lot of noise on an exhaust. Exhaust pipe cutters are the favorite tool, and they're cheap if they have to leg it and leave it behind.

If I  could turn back the clock prior to the theft, I would have removed and stored in the house loft my 1200 Honda OEM Cat and 600 the pair of sensors,  and substituted  a 80 BM Cat and 60 for the pair of Lucas sensors purchased from Ebay. The BM cat works nearly as well as the Honda OEM, only a 3% reduction in mpg.
This may raise a few eyebrows, but it is a very practical measure  to the problem of Cat theft
