Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: 15" or 16"?

I test drove both before paying for the diamond cut alloys and definitely felt the smaller wheels were better on our poor surfaces. Did the same with the E and got the 16in option instead of the standard 17in.

« Last post by Terryp on March 20, 2023, 05:35:13 PM »
Hi all

Thanks in advance

Some parents trying to get babies to sleep and that racket goes off on maybe 2 phones.

Shift workers.

Their should be an opt out for those who this will inconvenience. Will it keep going till acknowledged or is it timed off ?

There's a siren test at a government establishment near us every Monday at 10am GMT.

I hope there will be an increase of companies offering cost effective  refurbishment, or new replacements ,for EV batteries .     But I suspect there will also be an increase in users of older EV's  whos battery is well past its  best  and delivering a range well below what it could deliver when new  .Which was never that impressive.  .

The result?  - The inadequate supply of public charging points will be increasingly occupied by  old EV's needing frequent top ups.

Maybe there will be an increase in car renovators repairing and  welding up  a diminishing number of old petrol and diesel 'classics'.( And hybrids.)  Assuming you can still get petrol.   In the very early days of petrol cars pioneers had to obtain petrol in cans from hardware stores and chemists. So there  may be other reasons to regret how many hardware shops and pharmacies are currently closing in the uk  ;D

In NL these sirens are also present. They are tested every month on the first Monday at noon for as long as I can remember. Simultaneously you also get a message on your phone which makes a lot of noise. It overrides all other apps, just as a regular iPhone event would do.

You get used to it. Eventually...

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: Tyre pressure and auto stop problems solved!

As promised, here's a photo of the battery with two connectors to the right of the negative terminal. The nearer grey lever can be lifted to disconnect the battery from the black box underneath. My guess is that the black box contains the car microprocessor. I have some experience of microprocessors, albeit in a different context, and I know that sometimes they have to be reset by turning off the power completely (not just via a hardware reset signal.) So this may well be what did the trick for me.

Thanks, I see what you mean now. I'm a bit nervous about fiddling with clips like that where I'm not sure how to release them, in case I break them. So I just unbolt the negative terminal from the battery post for 5 or 10 minutes, which ought to have the same effect. But so far neither that nor the release-bonnet-whilst-engine-running thing has restored the auto idle-stop. Maybe it'll come back from it's winter holiday in it's own good time, maybe not.

Companies are opening up in the UK to repair EV battery packs. They are just composed of cells linked together, the same as lead acid batteries, and defective and damaged cells can be replaced. There is no super science involved. It requires the skills of a competent electrician.

Thats as maybe, but were the Jazz is concerned and the difference between the Honda wheel options available... does it really make that much difference in driveability regarding bumps in the road?  ;)
I dont think so. Having a different brand of tyre can make just  as much difference IMO
