You've mentioned actuator so assuming this is the the semi-automatic iShift as opposed to 'automatic'?

They have been problematic over the years but most owners seem to get away with just actuator and clutch replacements

Unfortunately there are not a lot of places familiar with these boxes and a Honda dealer is often your only choice

The online manual is far better than the book. Has more pages and can be searched.

It's available on the Honda UK site under 'owners'

If you hadn't noticed there is a dedicated area here for the MK4 Jazz as you've posted under the hybrid section for older Jazz models

Hey, folks, there's this thing called the internet these days, dead easy to check weather forecasts and travel warnings even if you haven't actually watched the weather forecast on TV.

The Jazz will worn you that there could be ice on the road, but because it doesn't come with traffic and weather info you could be caught out.
I use my smartphone to check driving conditions and traffic before I leave.
Jazzy isn't that smart, why doesn't it come with Internet instead of having to plug in a smartphone

Jazzik, Thank you, that link will be so helpful. I have had another look at the printed manual and can not find that illustration anywhere. Is it a link to the online user manual?

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Transmission error Honda Jazz 2009 automatic
« Last post by ZHonda on December 03, 2023, 11:26:46 PM »
Hello All,

I need some urgent advice, I have Honda jazz 2009 Automatic transmission, it has some 80K miles on it, about two months ago, one fine morning I tried to start but it gave me a ⚙️ sign on display and did not turned on, I take keys out and insert again and it started just fine, then two weeks later it happened again, this time, I had to take keys out for a while and it started just fine, then few days ago it again showed ⚙️ sign, my neighbor who is also a mechanic, removed battery for half an hour and then it started just fine, now a week ago it stopped, gave me ⚙️ sign, I tried removing battery and all stuff but it's not starting up, my neighbor has checked with a gadget and he said battery and charger is fine, it is actuator of clutch that needs replacement, I took it to a transmission garage and they are asking for £1200 saying that gearbox will need replacement, a new one will cost £500, £100 oil and £600 labor and they are only giving me three months guarantee.

What should I do?

Are there any other instances of nanny jazz that annoys you?
The slippery conditions warning feels unnecessary most of the time, because even before starting to drive I know it's slippery, as here it's -10 C outside and also snow on the ground. However I like the warning, if the weather gets cold during the drive, as then I'm inside the warm car and might not notice how the temperature and slipperiness outside changes.

Another unnecessary thing for me is the seatbelt reminder, which shows with green color that my seatbelt is on. If I forget to put the seatbelt on and start to drive, the Jazz would warn me with sound anyway. I feel like it's unnecessary to remind me every time that "everything is okay, your seatbelt is on". The only time when this was useful was when I had rear passengers, so I could check that they were wearing their seat belts.

Also the legal disclaimer text on the big navigation display bothers me sometimes if I want to enter a destination to the navigator quickly after power up, because then I need one extra tap to remove that disclaimer text first.

It also bothered me that the speed sign recognition starts flashing every time I drive overspeed. My speedometer shows 53, while the Jazz really travels at 50 km/h, so the speed sign flashed most of the time. Luckily I found a way to turn the flashing off in the settings.

Don’t have air con and definitely not a belt squeal sound.

Winter has in my jazz boot -
Thick wind proof jacket with hood
Woolly hat, gloves , scarf , thermal fleece blanket , spare walking socks  waterproof walking boots , folding snow shovel , pack of mars bars , pack of bottles of water , small bag of sand , torch and hand warmer flashing beacon. Flask of hot soup or coffee packet of sandwiches and biscuits !!! And then I wouldn’t go out unless I had to !!

:) Well I just ventured out to the Click'em Inn in the Wolds, it was snowing, freezing and dense fog. I got to try the foglights for the first time! They worked, like the heater and the Jazz, perfectly. Nothing in the boot apart from our coats.
