Jazz owners, what's your experience with engine oil you used so far? What is best and economical?

I don't think brand/price have as much impact as frequency of changes. Ideally you chose the one in the handbook, but it lists a few variations depending on region and usage profile. Low viscosity oils should help fuel economy.

0w-20 Castrol Edge is often recommended by Honda, but is a bit rarer and pricier. Personally I've got SAE 5w-30 A3 fully synthetic in, but any modern oil in the 0, 5, 10w - 30, 40 viscosity range should be OK. This is an area where marketing seems to have more influence than science; my father's spent 30 years in this field with Mobil and he would say the most popular standard oils suit the most popular standard cars, you only need something a bit special if your car's a bit special. The manufacturer specific endorsements are just marketing BS.

Found Castrol Magnetic 5w-30 A5 for £28. And edge for £35
Which is be better? Of course always price not only thing that can prove quality....

Also the term A5 or A3, what does it mean? And how it affects the performance?

the normal advice with oils was to use a thicker oil as the mileage increased because bearing clearances got bigger and thin oil couldn't maintain pressure,  also thinner oil slipped past piston rings more readily and burnt up.  At 55K your Jazz is hardly run in so use a 5W-30.

oil specs explained

Don't read too much into really low viscosity oils (0W-20) because in UK we don't get low enough temperatures and the amount of fuel you save running a slightly thinner (but more expensive) oil will be very small.  Use a reasonable quality 5W-30 (Castrol Magnatech) - it is more beneficial to use a cheaper oil and change it more often that leave an expensive oil in the engine for a long time.

the Jazz isn't some highly stressed performance engine that needs an expensive oil, and you can get fully synth less than £30.

In that case I guess I would be even better off with this Comma XTech 5W-30 full synthetic 5L for less than £20? Right?

Between £25 and £30 is normally my range for a decent branded oil,  not sure about a sub £20 oil  :-X

I put more expensive oil in my motorbike because it is a stressed performance engine and doesn't have a much oil capacity in it,  normally about £9 a litre.
