Luggage anchors
« on: August 28, 2015, 07:29:03 PM »
I was disappointed to find that my new Jazz doesn't have the four luggage anchors in the floor of the boot.  They were great in the old Mk1 Jazz - it meant you could secure just about anything into the boot with three bungee hooks.  I don't know whether they aren't fitted in any of the Mk2s or whether it is something to do with the hybrid having the batteries under the boot floor.  More importantly, does anyone know if it is possible to fit a set, or can anyone recommend alternatives for securing luggage from sliding about in the boot?

I have all four, one in each corner of the boot floor - might be a hybrid issue?

I checked the boot of my hybrid before I bid it farewell and it does have fewer of the anchors. Perhaps a rubber mat might help. Or get a spare wheel which will occupy a significant part of the boot and leave less room for the luggage to move around in.

Thank you for the suggestion, I bough some non-slip rubber matting from Halfords and it seems to work.

I've not needed the floor anchors, as yet.

But, I do need something to keep the shopping upright. Unspilled........  >:(

8mm dia bungee cord. Loop at l/h end. Carabina, at r/h end.......

Works a treat.......

That an excellent idea David!! Never thought of that- gona have to steal that idea and implement it  8)

However, is it a pain to undo the cord to thread the shopping handles through?

Or is it one of those quick release hook things?

Hi Gary.
No problem at all! It is simply unclipped, and taken through the handles.

David, do you not use the rear parcel shelf?

I guess I could still thread the cord how you have done

Yes. The shelf was only removed to make the photography easier......  ;)

The carabiner, (cost, next to nowt, Ebay), is unclipped from the r/h headrest upright. Using right hand, underneath shelf.

Thread bag handles on, while loading boot. Re clip to upright. Lower headrest, to look tidy.......
