Advice on Buying
« on: March 23, 2014, 03:37:55 AM »
I`m in the process of looking to purchase a Jazz EX.I have seen one or two advertised both are 3 years old with 27000 on the clock. Both are 1.4 petrol with manual box,is there anything I should be looking for to make me walk away & look at other.

Cheers in advance

Just the usual used car guidelines

Damage repair (look at it under flourescent lights)
Service schedule/book
Unusual tyre wear
Does the appearance and interior wear correspond with the distance recorder
Clutch action ok?  Can you stall it if you let out the clutch with the brakes on?
Synchromesh action on the gearbox smooth?  The Honda has an excellent gearbox
No pulling to one side when you apply the brakes
No lurching when you go around a corner.  No hopping when you go around a corner on an uneven surface
Get the car on a lift and check the underside for corrosion and damage
If music be the food of love, play on

Thanks for the heads up :).
I`ve heard the Dunlop tyres can wear & be hard to replace,is there an alternative ?

Lots more tyres are available now, still a little more expensive that the 15inch size, I bought a flaken tyre for £70 and Continental for £98, depends if you buy budget or best brands. My £70 was for spare.

It's worth waiting for the right one Mike - I'm sure there will be one out there for you! Good luck!

Got one ;D
It`s an 09 plate EX in metallic Purple.49,000 on clock, full dealer history from new with 1 owner.
Drives very well although there were a couple of flat spots when pulling in second, told sales guy & he`s having car fully serviced + full valet.
No chips, scratches on body, inside it`s very clean & no visible signs of wear n tear.

I am collecting it this saturday, only thing I really need is a usb cable that will connect to an I-pod touch.
Any ideas on where to get one?

Cheers

Thanks,
I don`t actually collect it until Saturday.
The dealer is giving it a full service & valet (free) so it will be in tip-top condition when we get there ;D.
Only downside, heavy rain is predicted here all Saturday :'(

Cheers

Heavy rain...? So what, a Jazz has a roof and wipers!  8)

Congratulations, purple is the most beautiful dark colour for the Jazz!

Only probs with heavy rain is the car will sooo nice & clean when we collect it & sooo dirty by by the time we get home.
Just have to clean it then ( & get to know where things are ) :D

Was a little wary when saw ad for car as it was describes as mauve but in the photos looked like a very dirty black. When we saw the car for the first time we just knew it was the one for us.

Can`t wait till the morning to collect it. :D
