electric window problem
« on: October 14, 2014, 07:56:45 AM »
hi all
recently bought a jazz and decided to fit some wind deflectors..got round the car and found that the n/s rear window does not come down by its own switch or by the main door switch..other 3 work fine....are the windows all off the samse fuse? would a break in connection from the main switch affect the switch on the door?  it looks ********** with only 3 deflectors  loll

Looking at the wiring diagram, it appears the n/s/r electric window goes through No 13 fuse on the under-dash fuse/relay box. It should be 20A.

New question (time for a test bulb or meter). Does power get as far as the fuse?

probably due to lack of use - try some silicone spray on the rubber seals & assist by using palm of your hand to aid downward motion - worked for me - must try again tomorrow since lack of use (no back seat passengers) has caused it to stick again - must be a couple of years since it was last used
Still very happy with the i-shift - six years & 56 + k in January 2015

actually no eddie its not of any help  lol...I'm in no way competent regarding wiring diagrams....and cheers oui4711 :) not sure its due to lack of use...def seems to be lack of power to the window as  it seems strange that 3 work from both main switch and door switch....still not had time to try and find out if power is going to the fuse but I thank you for the advice...soon as I get sorted I will update....many thanks guys...sound advice and much appreciated  :)

Try swapping over the switch from the OS rear, that would eliminate that part, then examine the wiring in the door jam any damage visible?

I have a possible solution.  :o
Turn ignition on, sit in the rear, press the switch down, open and close / slam the door repeatedly. Also try from the drivers seat with switch there if you have 'assistant' slam door.
This has worked on 3 different cars I had, Fiat Regata, Saab 9000, Honda Jazz. Also always rear nearside coincidentally. Let me know.

sorry for the late reply with this possible soloution...been off the planet :) thanks i will try this as the problem has not yet been resolved due to the weather and lack of time but I  will be making it top priority very soon as I would like it working..and get the 4th wind deflector on..lol.....also noticed the boot light does not work..even with a new bulb..wonder if they are connected (no pun intended)
