Mk II Hazard warning light switch
« on: August 25, 2016, 12:31:09 PM »
Hi just a quick question as I think it's odd. When active should the hazard warning light switch be illuminated with a flashing light? I know flasher indicator lights both come on in instrument panel, i'm used to this and the switch flashing as well on other makes e.g. Citroen, nissan and Ford. It probably doesn't but was just checking. Thanks and have a good Bank holiday for UK members

It's got an embedded ½ watt bulb, but that's just for background illumination.

My switch doesn't light up, just the two arrows on the instrument panel. I've always thought it to be a strange omission as with every other car I've owned the switch itself flashes, making it obvious that it is activated.

Hi Davegreen, that was my way of thinking but sounds like it was built like that so another of life's mysteries sorted.
Better than ripping it out to look. Thanks very much :)
