Instrument Cluster Bulbs
« on: August 25, 2016, 12:00:56 PM »
Hi guys,

Just bought a Honda Jazz as little runner. Have couple of questions regarding the cluster bulbs.. has anyone tried replacing the bulbs behind the radio on/off button (the circled bit). And does anyone know what type bulbs they are..?

From memory, they are LEDs and not replaceable.

I think they are normal incandescent bulbs as they dim with the rest of the dash.

I've not had one out yet, but my suspicion is that they are tiny little bulbs with two leads that are soldered in place onto a circuit board.

It may well be the same as in the GD climate control panel pictured bellow, if so then they are T5 286 clear bulbs either 1.2w or 1.96w.  They are in plastic holders in the picture but should just pull out, the only trouble is getting to them.  These twist-in holders are T1-1/4NW or Stanley T4.2 but there are a dozen or more types.  You should only need the bulb.

They look like the same as used in Ford CD Radios, 2000-6000 series. Used lots in my day. You can just replace the lamp and twist the wire around the holder as original. They are available from Farnell, but the time you have paid postage on the small order it may be cheaper to get the original part from the Honda Dealer, they can't be that expensive.
