MY22 had software updates. Although it made no difference to mine as it was rejected within the first 30 days.

And so they should ! Its crazy to think Honda can try and side step such an issue in tbe first place ! Given the ever increasing complexity of cars manufucters must realise owners wont tolerate crazy unexpected awesome bills for parts that should last the majority of a cars normal life . Honda are falling behind rapidly as the likes of Kia are offering hybrid tech with 7 year 100k warrantry supported by enthusiatic dealers . And its not down to how much you spend as our local dacia dealer gives great customer care according to neighbours driving their cars .

I suspect you will be shocked by Hondas price, even if  a small part if its available separately.   Your best bet may be used parts.  Car breakers may give a good price on  plastic parts that would otherwise go into the crusher or even cost them money to recycle.

If you cant find a yard that is breaking that model  google' used car parts finder.' You will find several sites where you enter the parts you need  (part number and maybe a description and photos,) .Car dismantlers ,possibly several, will contact you through the site with their offer price including postage.   - a bit like being sent personalised ebay listings.  I was able to pay using the sites own secure payment system.I cant remember which site i used.

TBH, it's all plain sailing

The option connector, once you've managed to get one, just plugs in and for the Jazz has 4 wires

I can't remember all of them but the one I wanted was the one that powers on and off with the main power. ACC mode doesn't trigger it

I had option connectors with my 8G and 9G Civics so I was aware of what they did

As many will say though, not for everyone

Fantastic. At last Honda appear to be acknowledging the problem.

The Option Connector is designed for accessories like dash cams

On my install, the only wiring visible is from the headlining down to the dashcam, about 3 inches. All the remaining wire is hidden

Ignore the SatNav in the link, that's long gone

Just had a pleasant surprise when I went to pick up my car today following the repair to the brake fault. I had been expecting to pay the labour cost but the garage informed me that Honda had now agreed to fund the whole cost of the repair, both parts and labour. It seems that they have finally realised that they have a PR problem owing to their initial response to this problem which clearly affects a significant number of owners.

That's good to know Kenneve. I have been pondering what percentage of vehicles had been affected.

Hello. New member here.
We have had a 1.3 sport manual since buying it new in 2006. Great car and that experience has resulted in the purchase of a 2018 1.5 sport, Not as a replacement ,but in addition to.
Our interest in cars had led us to also be the custodians of a 1966 Morris Minor Tourer, a 1967 Morris Minor Traveller and a 1983 series 3 Landrover. So petrol is the guide in our household.
