cd radio not working

cd player working ok. Radio will not change stations or give out sound. Have a tape radio,my question is would it be possible to remove the tape unit and replace with a cd unit,is the radio circuit boards the same fitting.or would it be cheaper to fit a normal cd player into the fascial..thanks

I don't see why you couldn't swap the factory tape deck for a factory CD one (providing all fascia non-radio knobs are equal)

If you replace it with a "normal" one,  then you'll need to get a whopping big fascia adaptor to fill the hole left by the factory one.
