Alloy setup
« on: September 15, 2014, 05:30:20 PM »
Thinking about getting some aftermarket alloys. After doing research I've found that the max tire size I can run is 205/40/R17. Is this true? Is anyone running this setup with stock suspension? Any rubbing?  Also, I'm unsure if 17" alloys would look too big and ugly...

Some people already complain of a harsh ride on the earlier Jazz, new model is nicer, so I think you would need a back brace to drive with the set-up you are considering, Try and 'try before you buy'?

Thanks, I figured that might be the case. The only reason I'm considering because I found a decent deal on the wheels and tires, but they're 17".  :(

I've tried some 17" Oz Superleggeras with 205/40/17 and it was fine with no rubbing however they affected the mpg too much so i went back to 15". Current wheels are 16"

I was going to buy some 17" wheels with 215/40/17 tyres fitted but when we test fitted them, they rubbed so guess your research is correct that 205/40/17 are the max tyre that will fit.

Thanks for the advice guys.  I'll stay away from the 17s and keep an eye out for a set of 16s. Appreciate the help!
