Washer Switch
« on: August 15, 2014, 11:32:02 AM »
Hello all.  First time posting here.

Got my Jazz SE Sport (2005) last week and I'm really enjoying it.  But I've noticed a problem.

It didn't come with a manual, but I assume (ass-u-me?) that if you pull the right stalk towards you it should activate the front washer jets as well as a wipe or two.  Well mine is only wiping, no wash.

So to the rotating switch on the end of the stalk.  Twist it up from the off position expecting the rear washer, but it activates the front washer and rear wiper.  Twist it down to the bottom option and again, front washer and rear wiper.

Confused!!  Can I take a stab at the switches being wired up incorrectly?

Maybe the pump motors sit next to each other and they are wired back-to-front?

Front washer packed up, so someone decided to use the rear washer on the front instead sort of bodge.

Can't see the switches being mis-wired in all honesty.

The window washer pump motors sit right next to each other at front of driver side wheel arch, directly  under the washer reservoir bottle (behind the plastic under guarding).

I think Eddie is 100% correct that someone has swapped wiring at pump end.
